In the 1960’s the company quickly expanded our activities with the addition of heavy plant machinery acquired and the company undertaking sub-contract groundworks, plant, hire etc, and we soon became an approved contractor for British Rail. Providing our services to complete demolition of railway stations, signal boxes including decommissioning and lifting of railway lines. We participated in the uplift of many miles of railway line and station/signal box demolition resulting from the Beeching cuts. In 1969 the Company was granted membership of ‘The National Federation of Demolition Contractors’, the industry leading body for the demolition industry. On the 30th June 1970, the company changed its name to ‘L A Moore Limited’. The Company was well established as both a main contractor in the field of demolition / civil engineering and as an approved sub-contractor to many Local and County Councils, working on various projects including earthworks for new roads, sea defences, shopping centres, office complexes and many other industrial, commercial and residential buildings. This continued until the 1990’s when we were tendering for works with the Department of Environment, British Railways, Utility Companies and National Construction Companies, this has continued into the current century, and we have grown into an established family firm with an excellent reputation for providing professional and practical solutions to the industry.
