A brief history LAR was founded in 1997 after a management buyout of Laing Asbestos Removal – part of John Laing Construction Ltd. As a result the directors and many of the operational staff have over 30 years’ experience in the removal of asbestos, having safely and effectively carried out projects across the UK, Europe and Africa with project values of up to £3.5 million. Below lists the work sites where AEM Demolition have completed full top down demolition over the last few years on a variety of contracts ranging from £95K to £1.9million. As a company, we are sometimes asked to act as principal contractor for larger companies working directly with the architects and engineers. AEM organise the site set up, handle the welfare and complete all the necessary paperwork to comply with current CDM regulations. All of our operatives carry a minimum CCDO labourer card to full CCDO demolition site managers. All our machine drivers are carded to the required levels. A.E.M carry out full temporary works, with fully trained labourers, burners, first aiders and are qualified for CAT2 asbestos removal. The company owns an extensive range of heavy plant machinery including excavators, skid steers and crushers.
