It is difficult to find contractors to do smaller repair and maintenance works on domestic properties. We had water coming in along our patio door. There is a canopy above the door so we weren’t sure where the issue was coming from. Tony responded to our call quickly and came to assess the issue. He thought the issue was coming from the seal around the canopy. He came back the next day and resealed the canopy before heavy rain was due later that day. Tony offered us the most effective solution to our issue in a timely manner and at a reasonable cost. We have since had several periods of heavy rain and water is no longer coming through the window. Prior to working with MDA Design and Build we had a 1930’s, 3 bed semi detached house in Altrincham that had been neglected for 15 years. It was tired, the electrics weren’t up to standards and not really suitable for everyday life with a young family.The plan was to add a hip to gable dormer conversion and a single story extension to the rear of the property.We invited several builders to look at the project and MDA Design and Build were one as they were referred to us by a friend. Mark and Shaun came around to scope out the project. On meeting them they were friendly, knowledgeable and passionate about doing a great job.When the quotes came back MDA weren’t the cheapest and after some deliberation we decided that they were the best team for the job and go and we gave them the green light to start.16 weeks later we had a completely remodelled 5 bed semi detached house, with 2 bathrooms and extended downstairs living space, rewired throughout, with a contemporary kitchen which my wife and I are incredibly happy with.6 months after the completion of the work I called Mark to say there was a problem. He apologiesed profusely and came around to sort it out. What more can I say!?The guys got the job done on time and on budget. I have already recommended them to friends and they will be the first number I call when we need work completing or move to another house.

The company was employed to carry out an extensive renovation and extension of a semi-detached cottage built c1750. After meeting with all the potential contractors MDA was chosen because of the enthusiasm for the project, a sympathetic approach to retain the character of the property and cost. MDA was not the cheapest or the most expensive.The property was brought up-to-date being completely stripped inside and out, re-wired, re-plumbed, re-plastered, new double glazing, new render and the existing rooves re-furbished using the original slates on the front of the cottage and garage thus retaining its character particularly from the front aspect. Solid floors were re-laid complete with new insulation and damp proof membrane. New, double damp proof membranes were installed to the exterior walls.The company used quality, up-to-date products and were knowledgeable and capable of installing all aspects of the work. The company was always approachable, polite and sympathetic to the build. The project was completed on time and within budget. I would have no hesitation in recommending MDA Design and Build to anyone.
