Greater Environmental Awareness
The impact of construction projects on the environment has never been more important. Recycling, taking measures during the construction process to reduce dust, noise and vibration and avoid ground and water pollution, as well as efficient use of plant and vehicles contribute to unwanted emissions all play there part. Regular maintenance and efficient use of plant is paramount in reducing emissions, all help to reduce this impact. HDR have a waste carriers license and waste exemption certification from the Environmental Agency for full compliance with EA requirements.

Site preparation involves the demolition of buildings and other structures, clearing of building sites from demolished structures. Site preparation also entails levelling, earth-moving, excavating and other land preparation.
Deconstruction – Dismantling
Deconstruction has strong ties to environmental sustainability. In addition to giving materials a new life cycle, deconstructing buildings helps to lower the need for virgin resources. This in turn leads to energy and emissions reductions from the refining and manufacture of new materials.
